The Assembly Dev nDreams Raises Further £2.7 Million

It’s good news for UK-based VR developer nDreams today, as the studio has raised yet more funds to continue working with the technology.

The company has just acquired another £2.7 million. £2 million of that comes by way of Mercia Technologies PLC, which previously invested £6.1 million in the studio through multiple rounds. The other £700,000 was raised by private investors.

MCV reports that nDreams is looking to use the funds to expand its team once more, and that it is currently working on a total of five VR projects. One of those is Bloody Zombies, a game in development at Paw Print Games and being published by nDreams. It’s a 2D brawler with optional VR support that allows players to mix between wearing the headset and playing with friends not in VR. It’s entertaining but, from what we’ve seen, the VR support isn’t really necessary. Previously the company released VR adventure, The Assembly.

nDreams is also providing content for a VR arcade company. Former Geomeric Director of Business Development Rob Precious is joining the company’s board as a non-executive director and a former partner at private equity firm Apax Partners, Paul Fitzsimons, is the new chairman.

Look for plenty more from nDreams in the coming year, then.
