The new Jabra Elite 65e earphones are the first active noise cancellation earphones in Jabra’s “Elite” line. They’re neckbud-style earphones, where all the others in the “Elite” series are truly wireless earphones (including the Elite Sport, Elite 65t and yet-to-be-released Elite 65 active), and the Elite 65e’s have a three-microphone technology so that the earphones are supposed to be excellent for taking phone calls. The excellent noise cancellation and microphone array make the Elite 65e earphones potentially great for business travel too.
Additionally, the earphones have an eight-hour battery life with ANC powered on, and a 13-hour life when it’s turned off. They have an IP54-rated design so you could work out while wearing them (although the collar could be annoying); and they come with a two-year warranty against water and dust, just in case your sweat proves too potent. Another neat feature is they work with all the major virtual assistants, including Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant; depending on your smartphone, you can instantly ask your assistant questions or have your messages read back to you. Through the Jabra Sound+ app, you can also tweak your music’s EQ settings.
The Jabra Elite 65e earphones cost $199 and will be available in April. Expect their main competition to be the Bose QuietComfort 20 ($249) and Bose QuietControl 30 ($300).
